Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
The Resume Strategist ("we," "us") helps you build career documents. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to deliver the service.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Résumé content — the work history, education, skills, and other details you enter or upload so we can generate your documents.
- Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only a confirmation and the last four digits.
- Usage data — basic, non-identifying technical logs (for example, error and performance data) used to keep the service running.
How we use your information
- To generate, score, and deliver your résumé, cover letter, and related documents.
- To create and secure your account and process your purchases.
- To operate the optional Auto-Apply membership (described below), if you subscribe and enable it.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
Auto-Apply (optional membership)
Auto-Apply is an optional paid feature. If you subscribe, we match your profile against public job listings and, only if you explicitly turn on email auto-apply, we may send an application containing your résumé to an employer on your behalf. Email auto-apply is off by default, and we only send to an application address whose domain matches the listing's own employer domain. You can disable it or cancel the membership at any time from your dashboard. To find listings we query public job boards (such as The Muse, Remotive, Arbeitnow, Jobicy, and Remote OK); to send applications we use an email delivery provider. If you never enable this feature, none of this data sharing occurs.
AI processing — what we send, and to whom
Writing and scoring your documents requires an AI service, so we want to be exact about it.
What we send. The résumé details you enter or upload — your name and contact details, work history, education, skills, certifications, and any text contained in a résumé file you upload — together with the job you are targeting (title, company, location, and any job description you paste).
Who receives it. Anthropic, PBC (the Claude API), acting as our service provider under a written agreement. No other AI provider receives your data.
How it is collected. Directly from you, when you type it into the résumé builder, upload a résumé for the Resume Health Score, or paste a job description. We do not buy résumé data or scrape it from other sites.
What it is used for. Only to produce the output you asked for: generating your résumé, cover letter and interview prep, extracting details from an uploaded résumé, scoring a résumé, and suggesting skills or metrics. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not used to train AI models.
Equal protection. Anthropic processes this data on our instructions under contractual terms that require confidentiality and security protections equivalent to those described in this policy, and prohibit using your data for their own purposes.
Your permission, and how to withdraw it. We ask for your explicit permission in the app before anything is sent, and we show you this same summary at that moment. Nothing is sent to Anthropic unless you agree. You can withdraw permission at any time in Dashboard → Account Settings → AI processing; AI writing and scoring stop working until you turn it back on, and the rest of your account is unaffected.
Service providers we rely on
We share the minimum necessary data with trusted providers who help us operate: Anthropic (AI generation of your documents), Stripe (payment processing), our hosting providers, and — only if you use Auto-Apply — public job boards (such as The Muse, Remotive, Arbeitnow, Jobicy, Remote OK, and others) and an email delivery provider used to send applications you have opted into. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your account and saved documents for as long as your account is active so you can access them. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time — from your dashboard under Settings → Danger zone, or by contacting us. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Your choices & rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your information. You can delete your account and data yourself from Settings → Danger zone in your dashboard, or email us via our contact page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Mobile applications
Our iOS and Android apps provide the same service as this website and are covered by this policy. The apps do not collect any additional data beyond what is described here — no advertising identifiers, no location tracking, and no third-party analytics. Deleting your account from the app (or from this website) deletes the same single account. See How to delete your account.
Cookies
We use only essential storage (such as your login session) needed for the site to function. We do not use advertising trackers.
Children
The service is intended for users 16 and older and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
